The Link figure is a character figure available in the first wave of amiibo figures. It was released on November 21, 2014 in North America.
When scanned into Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, this figure calls a FP (figure player) to fight against, or to fight with. One can level this figure player up from one to fifty, and teach it how to fight. It inherits the skills that one teaches it. The figure can inherit both good and bad habits. Figure players pick up custom equipment, moves and trophies during matches, moreso than human players.
When scanned into Mario Kart 8, this figure permanently unlocks a Mii Racing Suit for one's Mii. This outfit can be used in all single player modes, as well as the online mode. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.
When scanned into Hyrule Warriors, this figure unlocks a new weapon for Link, entitled the Spinner. After unlocking this weapon, it will unlock a random level-3 weapon from Link. This figure can only be scanned in once per day.
When scanned into Hyrule Warriors Legends, this figure unlocks a random level-3 weapon from Link. This figure can only be scanned in once per day.
When scanned into Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy +, this figure unlocks the F-14D "Link" plane.
When scanned into Mario Party 10, this figure allows the player to scratch an in-game scratch card which can reward the user with points, the amount depending on your luck. These points can be used to unlock various in-game rewards.
When scanned into One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X, this figure unlocks a new costume for Roronoa Zoro. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.
When scanned into Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, this figure rewards the user with a 1-Up Mushroom, which in turn grants them with an extra life.
When scanned into amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits, this figure unlocks a retro game, from either from Nintendo Entertainment System or the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. If scanned again, a new scene for the unlocked game will be playable.
When scanned into Super Mario Maker, this figure allows the player to place a mystery mushroom in their stage which allows Mario to transform into the scanned character.
Link is a Hylian with pointy ears, long blond hair, and blue eyes. He wears a green pointy hat and a green tunic attached by two brown belts, one horizontal and the other diagonal, both with a gold buckle. He has brown boots with white pants, brown gloves and blue earrings. Under his tunic, there is a white shirt and chainmail. In his left hand, he holds the Master Sword, and on his wrist lies a brown and blue protector. In his right hand is the Hylian Shield and on his back lies a scabbard. His pose is identical to his official artwork. He has his left leg bent and his right stretched like he is landing.
Link is the main character in The Legend of Zelda games. A young boy living in Hyrule, Link is often given the task of rescuing |Princess Zelda and Hyrule from the Gerudo thief Ganondorf. Humble to the end, Link is known not merely as a hero but as a symbol of courage, strength and wisdom as well.
- Pictures of the Link amiibo from the original amiibo announcement feature Link with a clear, plastic stand. The actual figure sold included a thicker, yellow translucent stand.
- With the exception of the two Super Smash Bros. games, games that are compatible with Link's amiibo can use Toon Link's amiibo for the exact same function.
- Link is currently the highest selling Amiibo in U.S + Canada, Japan, and Europe, and 3rd in Australia.
