Mario is a Super Smash Bros. amiibo figure. It was released in North America on November 21st, 2014, Europe on November 28th, 2014 and Japan on December 6th, 2014.

FunctionalityEdit

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Read-writeEdit

When scanned into Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, this figure (called a FP (figure player)) can be fought against or fought with. One can level this figure player up from one to fifty, and teach it how to fight. It inherits the skills that one teaches it. The figure can inherit both good and bad habits. Figure players pick up custom equipment, moves and trophies during matches, more so than human players.

Mario Kart 8 Read-onlyEdit

When scanned into Mario Kart 8, this figure permanently unlocks a Mii Racing Suit for one's Mii. This outfit can be used in all single player modes, as well as the online mode. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.

When scanned into Hyrule Warriors, this figure unlocks various items, weapons and also gives the user a random amount of rupees. This figure can only be scanned in once per day.

When scanned into Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy +, this figure unlocks the F-22 "Mario" plane.

Mario Party 10 Read-writeEdit

When scanned into Mario Party 10, this figure unlocks the amiibo Party mode, where you use amiibo figures as playing pieces in a virtual board game. You have to collect tokens that affect gameplay, these are stored in your figure.

One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X Read-onlyEdit

When scanned into One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X, this figure unlocks a new costume for Monkey D. Luffy. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Read-onlyEdit

When scanned into Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, this figure rewards the user with a 1-Up Mushroom, which in turn grants them with an extra life.

amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits Read-onlyEdit

When scanned into amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits, this figure unlocks a retro game, from either from Nintendo Entertainment System or the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. If scanned again, a new scene for the unlocked game will be playable.

Super Mario Maker Read-onlyEdit

When scanned into Super Mario Maker, this figure permanently unlocks an 8-bit Mystery Costume which can be used in Super Mario Bros. levels.

Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Edit

When scanned into Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash, this figure gives you in-game coins.

Yoshi's Woolly World Edit

When scanned into Yoshi's Woolly World, this figure unlocks a Mario-themed Yoshi design.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Edit

When scanned into Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, this figure can be trained and can help players in Knockout Challenge and online play. When it levels up after completing a set amount of matches, a random stat out of the eight stats get enhanced. In addition, each stat has its own slot limitations: for example, the figure cannot have more than three speed stats in their inventory. Once all ten stat slots are filled, the figure cannot obtain any more stats, though players can remove gained stats for a fee of 5,000 coins, so the slot can be filled by another stat.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Edit

When scanned in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, this figure will cause a summoned card of it to assist the player in battle.

Word Puzzles Edit

When scanned in Word Puzzles, this figure will generate a word puzzle based on the figure's nickname.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Edit

When scanned in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, this figure will boost Mario's and Sonic's outfits with that character's power for the day.

Style Savvy: Fashion Forward Edit

When scanned in Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, this figure will unlock clothing items and accessories based on it.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force Edit

When scanned in Metroid Prime: Federation Force, this figure will give the player's mech a Mario-themed paint job.

AppearanceEdit

He is a short human with brown hair, blue eyes and a brown mustache under his big nose. Mario wears his usual outfit: blue overalls, red shirt, red cap with an M, white gloves and brown shoes.

The Super Smash Bros. variation is identical to his official artwork. He is standing, but his knees are bent. In his left hand is a fireball that leaves a trail of fire in the air.

Mario never hesitates to leap into action when there’s trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom. Known for saving the world (and Princess Peach) countless times from Bowser, Mario is a true super star. He's got amazing jumping skills and makes use of a wide range of transformations. Mario has also powered up into countless roles: referee, doctor, sportsman, dancer, kart racer, and many more.
