The Samus figure is a character figure available in the first wave of amiibo figures. It was released on November 21, 2014 in North America.

Functionality[]

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U Read-write[]

When scanned into Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, this figure calls a FP (figure player) to fight against, or to fight with. One can level this figure player up from one to fifty, and teach it how to fight. It inherits the skills that one teaches it. The figure can inherit both good and bad habits. Figure players pick up custom equipment, moves and trophies during matches, moreso than human players.

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Read-only[]

Mii racing suit.

When scanned into Mario Kart 8, this figure permanently unlocks a Mii Racing Suit for one's Mii. This outfit can be used in all single player modes, as well as the online mode. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.

Hyrule Warriors Read-only[]

When scanned into Hyrule Warriors, this figure unlocks various items, weapons and also gives the user a random amount of rupees. This figure can only be scanned in once per day.

Hyrule Warriors Legends Read-only[]

When scanned into Hyrule Warriors Legends, this figure unlocks various items, weapons and also gives the user a random amount of rupees. This figure can only be scanned in once per day.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy + Read-only[]

When scanned into Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy +, this figure unlocks the F-YF-23A "Samus" plane.

Mario Party 10 Read-only[]

When scanned into Mario Party 10, this figure allows the player to scratch an in-game scratch card which can reward the user with points, the amount depending on your luck. These points can be used to unlock various in-game rewards.

One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X Read-only[]

When scanned into One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X, this figure unlocks a new costume for Nico Robin. Once scanned, this figures effects are permanent.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Read-only[]

When scanned into Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, this figure rewards the user with a 1-Up Mushroom, which in turn grants them with an extra life.

amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits Read-only[]

When scanned into amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits, this figure unlocks a retro game, from either from Nintendo Entertainment System or the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. If scanned again, a new scene for the unlocked game will be playable.

Metroid: Samus Returns Read-only[]

Unlocks a reserve missile tank and after beating the game and additional art gallery.

Appearance[]

Samus is a woman inside a suit of armor. The suit she wears on the figure is called the Varia Suit and is orange, red, and yellow. The waist and torso are yellow, the neck is red and the rest is all orange. She also wears a red helmet with a green glass front. On her arm is a cannon that can shoot multiple projectile weapons. On the figure, she is standing upright with both arms on the side of her body and she appears to be walking.

Description[]

Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter, has fought her way across a variety of planets in the Metroid series. Orphaned at an early age, she was taken in and raised by the alien race known as the Chozo. The Power Suit she wears is a product of their technology. Her unique combat skills combined with her athleticism and Arm Cannon have seen her through countless missions.

  • Samus is currently the 5th best selling amiibo in U.S + Canada, and Europe, as well as 7th in Japan.
  • There is a defect in a small amount of Samus amiibo where she has two arm cannons instead of one. There is a similar defect in the Marth amiibo where he has two swords instead of one
